Paper-pencil and behavior-based tasks
What are paper-pencil and behavior-based tasks?
Paper-pencil and behavior-based tasks involve activities such as completing questionnaires or test booklets in writing, or having children perform practical tasks like assembling a figure. These tasks help assess specific skills (e.g., writing or arithmetic) or abilities (e.g., spatial or logical thinking).
What happens during the study?

To allow for optimal concentration and performance, your child will complete paper-pencil and behavior-based tasks in a distraction-free environment. Each task is explained in detail with examples to ensure the instructions are correctly understood. Some of the tasks are time-limited, while other tasks allow children to choose how long they want to work on them.
What to keep in mind when participating?
- Your child’s vision should not be impaired. For example, if your child needs glasses, they should be worn during the study.
- Any factors that may affect your child’s participation (e.g., fatigue or stress) should be communicated to the researchers.
