Project Hate Crime

When Law and Hate Collide

The project is a collaboration of the Goethe University, the University of Central Lancashire (Michael Salter, professor of law) and the department of philosophy  of the University of Gothenburg (Christian Munthe, Professor for practical philosophy). The project team at the Goethe University focuses on the psychological background of bias-motivated violence with regard to victims and offenders as well. Special interests are possibilities for broad and specific prevention and for empowerment to support vulnerable groups from within. The overarching goal of the project is formulating recommendations for a Europe-wide Hate Crime policy for the European Commission.
