Promotion of Junior Scientists
The IDeA research center places great emphasis on promoting junior scientists. At an early stage, doctoral and postdoctoral students are integrated into the entire research process and they take on diverse tasks in the fields of planning, coordinating, evaluating and publishing empirical studies. Furthermore, junior scientists are regularly offered an opportunity to discuss their current work with experienced scientists from the IDeA Center: on the one hand, common events of the Center are organized. On the other hand, four Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have been established that focus on overarching themes of the IDeA Center, providing a framework for the presentation of individual research activities and discussion at an interdisciplinary level.
IDeA enables junior scientists to apply for a research visit abroad within their qualification period, thus they can forge contacts with internationally renowned experts in their domain of research.
Postdocs at the Center can enroll in workshops focusing on key qualifications and career planning. The center operates an internal mentoring program which enables them to exchange ideas concerning their careers. Personal talks can provide them with valuable incentives that go beyond their concrete projects.
Regarding its activities promoting junior scientists, the IDeA Center co-operates with the partner institutions DIPF and Goethe University Frankfurt.
