Evaluation sozialpädagogischer Gruppenangebote bei Kindern in der ambulanten Jugendhilfe

Restrictions on contact and curfews during the coronavirus pandemic meant that children and young people had much less opportunity to socialise. This quickly led to a complete lack of social contact with peers, especially for children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds who were denied access to state institutions such as nurseries or schools due to the pandemic. In addition, uncertainty and general anxiety may make social contact more difficult. When there is a lack of social contact, insecurity and anxiety are exacerbated.

Against this background, it seemed urgent to take measures to counteract this inequality, especially for children and young people in the care of the Youth Welfare Office, who are affected by a high percentage of low socio-economic status. The aim of the pilot study was:

  • to analyse the effectiveness of outpatient youth welfare services during contact restrictions
  • to establish a socio-pedagogical group in the city of Frankfurt in order to meet the increased needs of socially disadvantaged children and young people in general
