Projects

DELTA
In the project DELTA we apply a working memory training with elementary school children. We investigate the impact of children’s daily experiences on training success, with a focus on motivation, well-being, and sleep on training days.

DERET
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of errors in spelling, to allow different levels of analyses for a heterogeneous population of users.

DeSign
Self-regulation refers to an individual’s ability to control his or her own thoughts, feelings and actions in a way that supports the pursuit of long-term goals. The characteristics of situations influence this ability and can therefore support or hinder self-regulation. The DeSign project investigated the interplay between the perceived quality of teaching during a lesson and changes in students’ self-regulation.

DIALOG
The DIALOG project accompanies a 1.5-year training programme on the implementation of discovery and inquiry-based learning for early childhood educators. Various methods (e.g. video observations and smartphone-based surveys) will be used to investigate the interaction and communication between the actors and the conditions for successful implementation of the programme content.

DiaS-K
The DiaS-K project will interview educators in kindergartens and doctors who carry out school entry examinations to find out what instruments for diagnosing self-regulation at kindergarten age need to look like so that they can be used in practice.

DigitLern
The DigitLern project aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of (digital) distance learning and teaching during the coronavirus pandemic for children and young people with learning difficulties.

DiSeGel
The interdisciplinary network focuses on emotional violence by educational professionals towards children and young people. The network members examine how emotional violence as a phenomenon can be understood theoretically and dealt with empirically.

DYNAMIC Kids
In the DYNAMIC Kids sub-project of the DYNAMIC Center, we are investigating the mental health of children and adolescents using dynamic network analyses. This takes individual processes into account. We aim to provide a better understanding of individual risk and resilience factors, which will serve as a basis for personalized interventions.
DYNAMO
The DYNAMO project investigates the association between fulfillment of basic psychological needs and motivation in children and adolescents. To that end, a measurement instrument shall be developed which allows for assessing these two constructs in these age groups.

EABU
The research group aims to identify the causes of educational inequalities, analyse changes over time and identify the risks and opportunities of digitalization to reduce educational inequalities.
