Projects
Adaptive Education
This domain focuses on learning arrangements in kindergarten, school, and informal educational settings.
To the project browserMatheMat
The MatheMat project examines learners’ actions on comparable digital and analogue materials in order to reconstruct the mathematical interpretations underlying these actions. The question is what mathematical interpretations learners make of comparable digital and analogue mathematical situations and whether differences can be observed that are caused by the material. Based on the results of the project’s analyses, recommendations will be made for the use of digital and analogue materials in mathematical learning situations.
MeBis
MeBis is a project examining the handling of and attitudes towards multilingualism in children, parents and teachers in primary education settings, particularly concerning the use of several languages, for learning at home and reading out to children, but also during lessons with a particular focus on grammar and language comparisons.

meRLe
The meRLe project explores ways to promote German reading skills using multilingual-sensitive reciprocal teaching in primary education.
NawiSelf*digital
The aim of the project is to investigate the effectiveness of teaching units for primary school science that integrate the use of digital media.
NUMBERS
The project NUMBERS investigates two trainings for classroom-based promotion of early quantity-number competencies and self-regulation in classes with a high percentage of immigrant students.
PACO
The PACO project investigated how families with schoolchildren adapt to different measures aimed at slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus. The focus was on the everyday experiences of parents in the period from the end of March to the end of April 2020.
PERLE
The PERLE project is investigating whether computer-supported development of mathematics didactic competences leads to an improvement in early childhood education professionals’ ability to recognise and plan action.
Pro KiEl
The Pro KiEl project targets an assessment of the effectiveness as well as underlying general and differential mechanisms of a family support programme. Findings from this evaluation study will be fundamental to the recommendation of interventions required by immigrant children and their parents regarding equitable participation in education.
PROM3THEUS
This collaborative project will design and implement a series of events for early career researchers in empirical educational research. The three planned interdisciplinary conferences on the triad of theory, methodology and practice transfer will be complemented by a peer and mentoring programme.
